# Stages of an ecological brick build: painting and cleaning

*Building works* · The finishing of the soil-cement house and the advantages of ecological brick, summed up at the end of the build.

We have reached the end of the build and can see the advantages of building with soil-cement brick, better known as ecological brick. Among them: it needs no firing (and so releases less CO₂ than conventional bricks), uses less wood for beam and column forms, and leaves the site cleaner and more organized.

In this stage, we add a special touch to the rooms. White synthetic enamel was used on the frames (doors and windows); the interior walls got one coat of sealer and two coats of PVA latex.

The exterior walls got two coats of acrylic resin directly on the brick, and the eave woodwork got one coat of wood sealer and two coats of varnish with sun filter. Textures can also be applied.

After painting, a general cleaning was done, and the client could receive the house in perfect condition to live in. This stage took 6 days.
