# Soil crusher: an ally in making ecological bricks

*Machines* · What the crusher is for, when it pays off and which soil to use.

The soil crusher is an important help in making ecological bricks.

It breaks up the lumpy soil that comes from the quarry bank and does away with the sieve altogether. After the cement, soil and water are mixed, it also gets the mix ready for pressing.

With it, the work gets more done. In factories with more than two presses, the crusher speeds up the whole brick-making process.

## Which soil to use

The ideal is sandy clay soil from a quarry bank, found all over the country. Do not use black topsoil, or soil with grass and organic matter.

In the course every customer gets when buying any press, you learn to choose and prepare the ideal soil. If you prefer a precise analysis, Vimaq runs lab tests per sample.

Keep in mind that the soil crusher does not crush construction leftovers, rubble or renovation waste. That job is done by a different kind of machine, the hammer mill.
