Build with ecological bricks
Economical, solid and cozy homes. The interlocking bricks speed up the build and the holes already carry the electrical and plumbing lines, with no need to break the wall.
Why build this way
Four reasons to choose the ecological brick
Demand for sustainable materials is growing among builders and architects, and the soil-cement brick combines savings and comfort.
Ecology
The brick is cured with water, with no wood-fired kiln. Social and academic projects built on this idea have already won awards.
Structure
In laboratory tests, it withstands on average 2 times more compression than the conventional brick. It is thermo-acoustic and reduces outside noise.
Savings
It uses less cement in plastering and laying, and less paint, rebar, sand and timber for column and beam forms.
Comfort
The holes let air circulate, and the house has a pleasant temperature. The exposed brick gives a nice finish with no plaster.
Where the build saves
Less material and fewer bricklayer hours
The savings show up in almost every stage of the build.
- 1Plaster and layingThe interlock saves much of the mortar and the exposed brick saves the plaster.
- 2Columns and beamsThey run inside the holes, with less formwork timber and less rebar.
- 3Electrical and plumbingPipes and conduits run through the holes, with no need to break the finished wall.
- 4LaborWalls go up on average 3 times faster than with bricks laid in mortar.
